Khmer Unicode Input method for iPhone 2.0

All,I am fairly new to developing application in Mac OS X as well as iPhone 2.0.However, this is one of my objective to accomplish. I don't have an iPhone myself, I would like to know how the system structure is in iPhone compare to Mac OS X.I would like to possibly work out an iPhone 2.0 installer or something to install Keyboard Layout for Khmer Unicode as well as Khmer OS fonts.If anyone has anything to share, please let me know.Thanks,Tommy

From what I understand it will be quite difficult to develop an khmer apps for the iphone, I talked to the guys at xenotype, the company who made a khmer language kit for osx, and this is what they told me:"I have in fact been 'playing' with a jailbroken iPhone but even adding the Khmer font to the Fonts library on the phone doesn't seem to work. I have had some communication with Apple about this but they are very close-lipped about the whole thing and were not in a position to discuss the addition of any other language to the iPhone. Clearly, many languages (Latin based and some CJK) are already supported but what is different about the iPhone Fonts library and the Fonts library in OS X is not obvious.I have seen nothing in the SDK that would allow access to the font file required to make a dictionary app work properly. There is the iStudy app but nothing created using a Unicode script that isn't already on the iPhone seems to work.There are plenty of people who have emailed about this for Khmer and other languages but Apple is not being very cooperative, which probably means they have something in the works already.I haven't given up but I've not found a solution yet...."Hopefully that helps!

i have been successful install khmer font and khmer keyboard in iphone beforebut my 1st gen iphone. but i lost my iphone, i just buy iphone 3g and now thinking that i should make it again or not

Hi nak_n_me!iPhone 2.0! it means iPhone first Generation with firmware ver. 2.0 or you mean iPhone 3G (Second Generation iPhone)?For iPhone 1st Generation, I have successfully updated it to firmware ver. 2.0 and Unlocked/Jailbreak and activated already.Best regards,CRT

u can get your iphone 3g in Cambodia. I got my iphone 3g in Cambodia last 3 months the price 970$.now my current fw is 2.2 jailbreak with qpwn2.2 for window. m finding the way to use khmer unicode with iphone also. thai and vn can view their language in iphone but khmer cant view so sad...
